Hi, friends! I’m Merrill! I’m a 4.5-year-old greyhound gentleman with excellent manners and even better cuddle skills. I’m what you’d call a “classic greyhound,” which means I’m very passionate about three important things: food, being a couch potato, and being close to my people. My favorite thing in this world is having my neck scratched, and I will politely place a paw in your lap to let you know when it’s time for more. (It’s usually time for more.) I’m a good listener and a quick learner. I already know my name, “come here,” and “no,” and I try really hard to follow the house rules. I’ve been polite and friendly with the other dogs in my foster home, and I’m just an easy guy to have around. One thing that might surprise you about me is that I love going out for a light jog! I’ll keep pace next to you for 15–20 minutes before heading home for a well-earned nap on something soft. When I’m not out being athletic, I’m very content being your quiet, sleepy companion. I really like being with my people, so a home where I get plenty of love and attention, and maybe another dog friend, would make me feel extra secure. I could be great as an only dog too, but either way I promise to take my job as your loyal shadow very seriously.
