Discover the joy of adopting a retired greyhound and changing a life forever.

Adopt

Our adoption program is the heart of our organization. While greyhounds are wonderful dogs, they aren't the right fit for every home. We work closely with adopters to ensure the best match for both the dog and the household.

To begin, adopters fill out an application reviewed by our adoption director, Lee Simpson, who responds within 24–48 hours. Next, a home visit is scheduled to answer questions, share information about greyhound care, and assess the home environment for safety and suitability.

Greyhounds require special care: they must always be leashed outside secure areas and are sensitive to temperature due to their low body fat.

Once we understand a household's dynamics, we recommend greyhounds to meet — but it's up to the adopter to find the right connection. Some matches happen quickly; others take more time. On average, the full process takes about two to three weeks.

Foster

Foster families are vital in helping greyhounds adjust to life after racing. Many greys arrive with no experience in a home environment, and patient fosters teach them the basics of living as a pet. We provide everything you need — medical care, food, and supplies — so you can focus on giving them a safe and nurturing space.

Whether you can foster for a few weeks or a few months, your support is invaluable. Foster parents are often the best judges of what kind of permanent home best suits their foster dog. By opening your home, you play a crucial role in preparing a greyhound for a loving, forever home — and make a lasting difference in their life.
