Hi, I’m Sugar! Officially I’m a lurcher (greyhound mix), but my foster mom says I’m a Greyluki — that’s a fancy mix of greyhound and saluki. I came to Colorado with my sisters, Spice and Pepper, and I got my name because it looks like I dipped my nose right into the sugar bowl! I’m a gentle 5-year-old girl who’s a little shy and needs some extra time and space to feel safe. When I meet new people or go to new places, I like to hang back and watch from a distance before I decide it’s safe to join in. I walk nicely on a leash, but honestly? I’m a couch potato at heart. My happy place is snuggled up next to my foster mom while we binge-watch our favorite shows or cheer on her favorite team. I like having my own space and would prefer to be the only dog in the home - and I’d love a backyard where I can chase squirrels to my heart’s content! I’ve got a pretty high prey drive and some serious hops, so no small dogs or cats for me, and I’ll need a nice tall fence. But if you’re patient and give me a couple of weeks to settle in, I promise I’ll be the most loyal and grateful friend you could ever hope for. Especially if you come bearing treats.
